Piercing rings are undoubtedly the most popular piercing jewelry out there. From the ears, nose, lips to nipples and intimate placements; they are some of the most multi-functional jewelry types, as they come in a multitude of sizes, designs, and colors. Scroll through Bodymod’s website to find endless jewelry styles online. Here are some of the types we have:

Endless rings

These are great as your first jewelry because they are very easy to use. You can get used to wearing this type of jewelry before changing to other, more complicated pieces. You will find many endless ring designs in our webshop, like these pieces:

Captive bead rings

With regard to the particular types of hoops, captive bead rings (also known as ball closure rings) are great for more experienced piercing users. They are called that because you have to pop a tiny ball in and out to open and close them. If you find it hard to use this type of jewelry, you can choose one of the designs with a ball that is fixed to one side of the hoop. Some of the pieces you’ll find on our website:

Hinged rings

These rings look almost like endless ones - there is no opening/closing mechanism visible. However, they feature a hinge that allows you to open and close the jewelry easily and securely. Here are some of our favorites:

Sizing and materials

When choosing your new jewelry, make sure to pay attention to the sizing and material. Different piercing placements require unique thread thicknesses (measured in millimeters or gauges) and diameters (measured in millimeters or inches). If you aren’t sure, consult your piercer regarding the perfect size for you.

As a general rule, any material can be worn in a healed piercing - acrylic, surgical steel, 14K gold, etc. However, if you’re just getting pierced, or if you’re still healing, titanium is the safest choice. It is also the best material for those with a nickel allergy.
